San Diego based artist Talia Ceravolo is known for her life-like and captivating portrait paintings. Drawing inspiration from great artists such as Sorolla, Rembrandt and Vermeer, she uses her love for traditional art to fuel her contemporary work. After her 4 years at San Diego State University, she furthered her art education in Puerto Rico. There she studied under the artist Luis Borrero learning the ever-illusive traditional master techniques of Leonardo DaVinci, Rembrandt, Vellasquez and Vermeer. Her new work has a destinct depth and softness and uses symbolism from the tarot cards to envoke mystery in the viewer. Her passion for metaphysical and spiritual knowledge comes through in her ability to extract subtle emotions and create a feeling of connectivity between the viewer and the subject.
